Frequently Asked Questions
Does my phone need root?
No. Only 5G Network Mode uses standard Android APIs available on unrooted devices running Android 10 or newer.
Why can't I force 5G on my device?
Some manufacturers restrict hidden network-setting APIs. Availability depends on your device's chipset and carrier configuration; if a setting is locked by the manufacturer, the app cannot override it.
Does the app collect any personal data?
No. The app follows a privacy-first architecture: all diagnostics run locally on your device and nothing is transmitted, logged or shared. See the privacy policy for full details.
Why does a network app need location permission?
Android requires location permission before any telephony API can report cell tower or band information. Only 5G Network Mode uses it strictly to read tower metadata — your GPS position is never read or stored.
Is the app free?
Yes. Only 5G Network Mode is free to download from Google Play.
Battery drained faster after locking 5G. Why?
Pure 5G NR mode can consume more battery than adaptive modes, especially in areas with weak 5G coverage. If that happens, switch back to a smart/adaptive network mode from within the app.
